Hungary - 1991 Large Silver John Paul II Medal

Description

This is a Large, about 43mm., Silver, .925 Fine, Medal from Hungary depicting Pope John Paul II. Appears to be a Proof striking but it has some light surface marks, rim nicks, haze and fingerprints (and some camera glare in the photos). Overall, it looks great. One side has the legend, "II Janos Pal Papa Latogatasa, 1991, Budapest, Lebo F." The other side depicts JPII and Madonna & Child with the legend, "Isten Aldd Meg A Magyart," with his written signature across his shoulders. This medal is marked .925 on the dated side. Should be a great bargain at our low opening bid.
